Introduction to the Short Story (LIT2020)





This course is a survey of the development of the short story. The course includes authors from various time periods and cultural perspective.

A wide variety of authors may be included in the course, such as Atwood, Baldwin, Borges, Camus,   Carver, Cather Chekhov, Chopin, Crane, De Maupassant, Faulkner, Fuentes, Hawthorne, Hemingway, Hurston, Kafka, Marquez, O’Conner, Oates, Poe among others.


The course is a writing credit course with international/intercultural content. You must earn a C or above to meet the requirements for the Gordon Rule for Writing.
